Letter from Editor:
Well, I'm not really the editor, but I'm filling in for her. It's Casila, and I'll be your substitute today :)
The last time I talked to her (Liz) was a couple of days ago, and before that, she hadn't been online for about 2 weeks. When I did talk to her she said her computer was messed up and for me to send out the newsletter. So that's what I'm doing now. Hope you all like it :)

*Prequel News*
All information has been provided by my favorite mag
"The Star Wars Insider"

It has been released by the SW Insider that Episodes II and III shall be filmed in Australia, not Levesden Studios, England. Fox built a huge studio there, so it sounds better for them.
And I'm sure most of you have seen the trailer for Episode I. You know when you see a trailer, and then you see the movie it's like "the best parts were in the trailer!!" Well, they (people at Lucasfilm) said that's not the case, they are being very secretive about the whole trailer thing, giving only tidbits of info. They assured us, the trailers you see now are only "the tip of a very huge iceberg!"
Ohhh, I'm reading now that there is going to be major surround sound in the theaters, Dolby & THX is going to blow us away! :) You know when you hear things go beside you in a theater, but not behind you--well they said it's a new thing that the theaters are going to have, where you actually hear it behind you! Hopefully, I will be near a theater that will provide this.--they said a lot of theaters will have it in time for the first movie.
Lucas is doing some fundamental and basic concept designs for episode II right now. He is intensely editing! :)
They haven't found the older Anakin yet, they said they'd start searching in the middle of 1999. The older Anakin they are looking for should be in the age range of about 19-21. So this one who is hired for Episode 2 will be in number 3 as well.
Oh yes, and I forgot to add that Pernella August is playing Shimi Skywalker, Anakin's mother.
I'm checking out some past mag's of the SWI (Star Wars Insider) and I see that Jabba will grace us with his presence in Episode I. It's not a big role, but he will be there.
Do you know who got to name Jar Jar Binks? (You know, the Chewie of the movie)--Lucas' son, Jet named him!! What a nice thing for a dad to do :) "hey son, wanna name a character in the biggest film of the year?"

Now, something about one of the actors:

Ray Parks: This is his first time in a major motion picture. Can you believe that? First time in a movie and he gets the lead bad guy role in the STAR WARS MOVIES!!!!
For a while before the movies, he was a stunt double. He worked on different sets, and before SW worked on the 2nd Mortal Combat movie. He is trained in gymnastics and martial arts, Wu Shu style, in which he has a black belt. He finished 4th place in the '95 world championships. pretty good! :)
Wu Shu means "martial arts" in Chinese. Very original, don't you think? :)It's a series of kicks and jumps, and a non-contact sport. Mostly what Jet Li, Jackie Chan, and Bruce Lee did. Those, Parks said, were his idols when he was growing up.
When stunt coordinator Nick Gillard called Parks, he wanted him to show Lucas a fight sequence, so of course they called in Wu Shu expert, Parks, to show him. They were also looking for someone to play the role. So they taped the fight, showed it to Lucas and Ray got a call back that he got the job! :) So there is some background of our sinister evil guy, Darth Maul!

'SW1' Trailer Details
Contrary to rumors on other Web sites that the second teaser trailer for Star Wars: Episode One -- The Phantom Menace would have a running time approaching the four or five minute mark, Lucasfilm film has announced (via StarWars.com) that the second preview will run for approximately two minutes and thirty seconds. Additionally, "Trailer B", as it has been called, will focus more on the overall plot of the prequel, rather than simply on Anakin Skywalker's part in the movie. Rumors indicate that the trailer will likely hit theaters across North America on March 12th, just in time to usher crowds of sci-fi fans into theaters for Fox's Wing Commander film.


‘SW1’ Promo Single
There’s yet another Star Wars: Episode One – The Phantom Menace item coming out that is likely to disappear very quickly. According to the BBC, a promotional single featuring John Williams’ new music for the Ep 1 will be hitting stores prior to the release of the film. Sony is also saying that they may make a music video.
